IMOCA and CLASS40 BULBS

OFFSHORE RACING

IMOCA BULBS
CNC MACHINED

The NAVYLEST foundry produces lead bulbs for IMOCA boats, entirely CNC machined in order to obtain precise control of weight and shape.

Each bulb is manufactured to the nearest kilogram and millimeter in order to meet the requirements of naval architects and racing teams.

Our bulbs incorporate the necessary details for their installation: technical pockets, recessed GRP infills and covers to maintain the hydrodynamic shape without the need for fairing.

PERFORMANCE

A PRECISION DOWN TO THE
KILOGRAM

Thanks to our exclusive lead remelting process at over 300°C after casting, we eliminate air pockets and guarantee optimal density.

INDUSTRIAL PROCESS

MANUFACTURING PROCESS

01

Standard mold

Our standard mold allows for the creation of different geometries without creating new tooling.

02

Lead casting

The lead is poured in a perfectly controlled environment.

03

Reflow at 300°C

A second melting process eliminates bubbles and improves the material's density.

04

CNC Machining

The raw casting is machined in order to obtain the final shape of the bulb.

CLASS40 & MINI 6.50

BULBS FOR
CLASS40

Our foundry also produces bulbs for Class40 and Mini 6.50 boats.

We can supply CNC-machined bulbs or raw cast parts as required by the shipyard.

Each project benefits from the same quality standards as our IMOCA achievements.
